Comparison
A got_the_ref alternative, compared honestly
A French tool that measures whether AI assistants recommend your business, then writes the content to get you there. We created an account on their free tier and put a real business through their tool to write this page.
Checked on 9 September 2026. Their product will change; this page carries its date.
got_the_ref — €49 one-off audit pass, €79/month all-in
Tadaaah — Free audit with no account, $29/month PRO, $79/month Agency
What got_the_ref does better
- They query a live engine. Their free tier asks Gemini and reports where you rank in its answer — a real query against a real assistant, not a memory test.
- They hand you the fix for free. The free tier rewrites your title, meta description, H1 and opening paragraph, ready to paste.
- Their Google Business Profile audit is deeper than ours — it counts unanswered reviews and unchecked category attributes, field by field.
What Tadaaah measures that they do not
- No account to see your score. Their analysis runs, then asks you to create an account before showing anything. Ours shows the full report to an anonymous visitor.
- We measure the whole site, not only the words. Core Web Vitals from Google's own field data, accessibility against WCAG, security headers, and a crawl of up to 15 pages for duplicate titles and broken links. Their report shows none of this.
- We name your local competitors. For a local business we return your rank in your city, the leader by name, and the median review count you are measured against.
- Every number is labelled Measured or Estimated, and an unmeasured metric is reported as unmeasured rather than scored zero.
- An API and an MCP server, so an agent can audit a site from inside ChatGPT or Claude.
Choose got_the_ref if…
You want the corrected copy written for you and handed over, and you are happy to create an account and pay €49 to see the full picture. Their content rewriting is genuinely their strongest feature.
Choose Tadaaah if…
You want to see the whole report before giving anyone your email, you care about speed, accessibility and structured data as well as copy, or you want the audit available to an agent through an API.
Frequently asked questions
- Is there a free version of got_the_ref?
- Yes, with a condition: as checked on 9 September 2026, the analysis runs and then requires an account — email and password, or Google — before any score is shown. It queries one engine, Gemini; the others are part of the paid tier.
- What does Tadaaah measure that got_the_ref does not?
- Core Web Vitals from Google's field data, WCAG accessibility violations, security headers, and a multi-page crawl covering duplicate titles, missing descriptions and broken links. For local businesses, your rank among named competitors in your city.
- Does Tadaaah ask an AI whether it names my business?
- Yes, and the report says exactly what that means: we put the questions a customer would type to a language model, without live browsing, and report who it names. That measures what the model has absorbed about your market. got_the_ref queries Gemini live, which answers a different and equally useful question.
- How much does Tadaaah cost?
- The audit is free with no account, three per day. PRO is $29/month and adds the Schema Fix Pack, weekly tracking, competitor benchmarking and API access. Agency is $79/month.
